Nitrile Rubber Seals

nitrile rubber seals

Nitrile rubber seals are manufactured for many uses especially in the aerospace and defense industry, sectors that Goodyear Rubber services. Below are some of the materials used in rubber seals:

HPU Polyurethane:

This high performance material that handles temperatures from -11 to 230°F, gets used as rod and piston seals in hydraulic cylinders and for packings, drive belts, rod wipers and hydraulic u-cups.

HNBR Highly Saturated Nitrile Rubber:

The more extreme temperature ranges of -13 to 302°F in this material are put to use in O-Rings, washers and rod and piston seals. It is also used with oils containing aggressive additives.

NBR, Buna-N or Buna Rubber:

Withstanding temps from -22 to 210°F, this rubber seal material is mainly used in low pressure hydraulic seals, O-Rings, oil seal lips and gaskets. It’s a rubber-like elastomer used for general purpose usage.

VIT Fluoroelastomer-Viton®:

For strenuous sealing applications, this material is used in extreme temp (-4 to 392°F) applications in harsh environments and with extreme chemicals used in paper mills, chemical processing and solvents.

Aerospace & Defense Elastomer Solutions

Goodyear Rubber Company partners with the aerospace and defense industries to ensure missile parts and elastomer product capabilities using these and other appropriate rubber materials, including extruded and molded extruded silicone products, are certified for high temperature applications. All compounds meet or exceed industry standards.
